She grabbed 2.6 million overall viewers — making it the second-most-watched regularly scheduled episode to air in the 7?p.m. hour in MSNBC’s history. Only her predecessor Chris Matthews has managed more, when 2.77 million tuned in to an episode of “Hardball” in 2018, according to the Wrap.

Reid’s first guests were Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Despite her blockbuster overall ratings, Reid was only in third place in the 7?p.m. slot among Monday’s cable news shows for viewers in the all-important 25 to 54 demographic. Reid drew 285,000 in “the demo” according to the Wrap, while Erin Burnett topped the hour on CNN with 384,000.

Reid previously hosted “AM Joy” and “The Reid Report,” and replaced Matthews after he retired in March, after journalist Laura Bassett publicly accused him of repeatedly making sexist remarks to her off-camera when she appeared on his show.

Well, congrats to Joy.
