We knew that members of John Singleton’s family weren’t seeing eye-to-eye when it came to his affairs while he’s recovering from a stroke, but now we know that his daughter and his mother also have different accounts of what his recovery is actually looking like.

His daughter, Cleopatra Singleton, submitted court paperwork on Friday contending her dad’s doctors “do not have a concrete diagnosis” of his current condition after her grandmother ? John’s mother ? filed documents saying he’s in a coma.

“My father is not in a coma,” Cleopatra, 19, asserted in the filing.

She accused her grandmother, Shelia Ward, of providing an inaccurate account of her father’s current state as she attempts to become his conservator.

“My father is breathing on his own,” Cleopatra wrote. “He is only medically sedated to keep his blood pressure low and allow the vessels in his brain to heal.”

Ward submitted her court filing earlier this week. She says she has aided her son with personal and financial matters for a long time.

“He is currently hospitalized in a coma and is unable to provide for his personal needs,” reads her filing.

John Singleton? best known for directing the 1991 drama “Boyz n the Hood” ? suffered a stroke on April 17 while he was already at the hospital for another health concern, his family announced in a statement last weekend.

They said at the time that he was in the intensive care unit and “under great medical care.”

At this point we don’t know who to believe — but we’re praying for his recovery.
