Jazmine Sullivan is taking her talents to the Super Bowl.
The singer has been tapped to perform the national anthem during the Super Bowl LV pre-game on Feb 7.
She will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” alongside country star Eric Church, but it’s unclear if they will be trading verses or harmonizing.

“The intended message of teaming up a white country singer with a Black R&B artist to sing the national anthem at a time of social unrest is clear,” writes Variety.
We’re thrilled that Jazmine gets this opportunity, but during this “time of social unrest” making a Black woman share the stage with a white man isn’t necessarily the best message.
Either way, we can’t wait to watch Jazmine tear it up!
