Jay Z dropped another trailer for his mysterious ‘4:44’ project on Sunday evening and the latest clip features new music
Much like the first clip, the new one shows more footage of Mahershala Ali hitting a punching bag with a trainer, portrayed by Danny Glover, holds it.
The instrumental comes in towards the end before Jay begins rapping.
“Letter to my dad that I never wrote / Speeches I prepared that I never spoke / Words on a paper that I never read / Prose is never pen, they stayed in my head.”
We still don’t know much about the project — whether it’s a film, a visual album, a movie, or what — but the song was labeled as “Adnis” on Tidal. Adnis happens to be the name of Jay’s late father.
We’ll find out more about ‘4:44’ June 30th when the project is set for release.
