According to court records, Yaya has hired famous Houston attorney Kurt Schaffer to defend her in the criminal case.

Schaffer has represented several celebrities over the years, including Chace Crawford and J. Prince. Kent has successfully worked on cases involving Farrah Fawcett; Tom Sizemore; Armie Hammer; Stayve Thomas (Slim Thug); Brad Jordan (Scarface); Chad Butler (Pimp C), his website says.

Mayweather is preparing to plead not guilty, Schaffer told Bossip.com, and she is due back in court in August of 2020. We broke the story, she was also ordered to stay away from the alleged victim, Lapattra Jacobs.

In the legal documents, the Harris County District Attorney alleges that Yaya Mayweather — “unlawfully, intentionally and knowingly caused bodily injury to Lapattra Jacobs…by cutting (her) with a knife, and (she) used and exhibited a deadly weapon, namely a knife”

As we reported, Mayweather was involved in an altercation with boyfriend, NBA Youngboy’s Ex-GF, that turned violent. It was reported while arguing the two women made their way into the kitchen of Youngboy’s Houston home — where Mayweather picked up a knife and stabbed the Jacobs in the arms.

Iyanna Mayweather was arrested and booked into Harris County Jail after her alleged victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and underwent emergency surgery on her arms.

Iyanna doesn’t have a criminal record and, as we all know, money talks — so it’s likely she won’t get much time at all.
