The 48-year-old homeowner told deputies that his son was hosting the party, according to KHOU-TV.

The owner claimed that a fight erupted between him and the drunken man when he refused to leave, adding that he had no choice but to shoot, the station reported.

Officials did not release the name of the victim.

Witnesses say the victim was one of 200 attendees and found the incident unusual in their quiet neighborhood.

“It’s normally quiet. You never hear anything, especially from those people,” neighbor Steve Jones told the station.

The gated Dry Creek community serves as a private airport, and homeowners are allowed to have small planes on their properties.

No charges have been filed, officials said.

Well…that’s one way to end a party.
