This story is sure to warm a few hearts on this Christmas Eve.
Yaovi Mawuli, a high school senior in North Carolina, saw fellow classmate Jared Newby getting made fun of because of his worn down sneakers. So….he bought him a pair of “Concord” Air Jordan 11 lows.
“I could not live with the fact that such a cool guy would be made fun of in this way,” Mawulitold Nice Nicks in a recent interview. “I remember I got made fun of for wearing some shoes that had 2006 on them while we were in year 2008.”
He wasn’t sure how to go about giving him the shoes without it being embarrassing, so he shared his idea on a local Facebook group for sneakerheads to get some advice.
The solution found them both in a counselor’s office, where Yaovi gave Jared the XIs.
Shortly after, they took a photo together and the story has since gone viral.
Way to go, Yaovi!
