Jada Pinkett Smith recently revealed that she and Gabrielle Union ended their secret feud after 17 years, and now Gabrielle says she doesn’t even know why they had issues in the first place.

“Jada nor I ever used the word feud, so it just became more of a media creation,” Union, 45, revealed on the “Today” show on Monday. “Kind of like back in the day, neither one of us actually knows what originally took place back then.”
For nearly 20 years, Union and Pinkett Smith had been at odds, leading many to believe there was more to the rift that initially appeared. And as Union detailed, the people in their circles may have driven the wedge even deeper.
“The people we had around us were like, ‘Well, you know how she feels about you,’ and they were like, ‘Well, you know how she feels about you,’” Union recalled. “And then it was like ‘girl bye’ for 17 years. Even though we’re both very outspoken women, both activists, our husbands are friends, I worked with her husband, we both had too much pride and too much insecurities to just say, ‘Hey, did that ever actually happen or was that just a creation of someone who didn’t want to see two women rise together?’”
Today, after reconciling and getting to the bottom of things, the women are on good terms, as Pinkett Smith, 46, revealed last week.
The “Girls Trip” star welcomed Union to her new Facebook Watch show “Red Table Talk.”
“When the producers said we want to do a girlfriends show, her name just kept coming up,” Pinkett Smith told Extra. “It just couldn’t be anything else.”
