Parker Sawyers and Tika Sumpter were chosen to play young Barack and Michelle Obama in Southside with You, which will chronicle the fateful summer afternoon in 1989 when the now First Couple met.

For those of you who don’t know the story, Barack and Michelle attended a screening of Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing and kissed outside of an ice cream parlor during their first date.

Production of Southside with You began this summer in Chicago, and photos from the set were shared online last month.
