Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard grace the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly, and the magazine spent two days on the set of Empire speaking with the cast and soaking in a bit of television history.
Inside the issue, Terrence admits that the immediate success of Empire caught him by surprise.
“I thought it would take a couple years [to be a hit] and maybe get a little peak and then come back down. I didn’t know it would jump off from there. But now that such a huge audience has joined in to the dance and are following, I feel so responsible to keep them there.”
The cover story also discusses why Empire is such a success and also highlights the success of other minority-driven shows.
The issue hits newsstands this Friday.
