Earlier on Tuesday (Jan. 19), we reported that Snoop Dogg was in private talks with Donald Trump to pardon Death Row’s co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris before he leaves office tomorrow on Inauguration Day (Jan. 20). It looks like those conversations have worked because Harris is now a free man.
Multiple outlets have confirmed including the New York Post, which stated that the co-founder of one of the most influential hip hop labels in the game was behind bars for 32 years for attempted murder and cocaine trafficking. “Harris, 59, got word he’d been granted clemency at Lompoc Federal Correctional Institution in California, said Weldon Angelos, who received his own pardon from Trump in December,” the news publication reported.
“Angelos said Harris sent him an email saying, ‘Thank God. God is great. It feels like the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders.’”
Rapper Jim Jones has already reacted to the news on social media. In an IG post of his, the New York MC said: “This is too gangsta welcome home quadruple Og just sayin he lettin’ some real ones go who are very influential in our inner city neighborhoods these [are] th[e] ones who can reach th[e] youth and talk to them help them focus up.
REVOLT’s own weatherman continued to add some more people who he felt like deserved to be pardoned, as well. He added: “Now they need to pardon #MRHoover & #MacaZoe #BoyGeorge #melMatrix #antlive #tinyBum #stro #gida and all th[e] real ones who [are] behind th[e] G wall. Im just sayin if we gone free them let’s free them.”
Trump was reportedly set to schedule pardons for other well-known figures in the rap game as well including Lil Wayne and Kodak Black. We’ll be on the lookout to see if those also occur today.
