DJ D-Nice’s ‘isolation dance parties’ a viral (in a good way) hit

After performing marathon “isolation dance parties” for 100,000 guests on Instagram Live last weekend, DJ D-Nice admitted to Page Six, “To be honest with you, I’m a little tired! I did like back-to-back nine-hour shifts,” followed by mere five-hour and six-hour sets.

“I’m like, ‘My back is hurting, I just really need to lay back and chill.’ What am I supposed to do? I stand up for nine hours tappin’ my foot.” But the DJ — whose Instagram following jumped from 200,000 to 1.7?million since his so-called Homeschool at Club Quarantine act debuted — doesn’t seem to be slowing.

He teamed with Spotify on a playlist this week, hosted a Club Quarantine voter registration party with Michelle Obama, and did a live talk with Ne-Yo. The virtual club’s been packed with endless VIPs from Rihanna to Mark Zuckerberg. CAA even sent him sushi for sustenance.

He told Page Six the idea began because he was lonely while isolating and missed crowds. At first, “It wasn’t many of us … it was kind of floating around 200. The next day it started to grow … Naomi Campbell was the one that was telling people.” Who knows who will pop in next and what numbers he could possibly hit?
