Charlamagne Tha God joked that Drake “cheated” when he made history by becoming the only artist to debut tracks at the top three spots on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

On Tuesday (March 16), the “Breakfast Club” host spoke about the Toronto native’s historic feat during the “Rumor Report” segment of the show. “He cheated!” Charlamagne said. “Don’t let the heart cut in the head fool you. Aubrey Graham is a demon who doesn’t play fair. He cheated. I can’t prove it. This might be pure hate. … I’m not standing on nothing with this. I just think he cheated.”

Back in December, Charlamagne caused a frenzy when he asked, “Are we still in a Drake era?” during an episode of his “Brilliant Idiots” podcast. He then said that radio makes it seem like we’re still in a “Drake era,” even though we’re not.

“Radio — they haven’t caught up to what’s actually going on in the streets yet,” he said. “They haven’t changed the temperature. So, it still feels like we’re in a ‘Drake era’ — I don’t think we’ve been in the ‘Drake era’ for the last two or three years.”

Charlamagne also said he wasn’t excited about Drizzy’s upcoming sixth album, Certified Lover Boy, which is rumored to be dropping in April. Instead, he compared the More Life emcee to Kendrick Lamar, who waits to release music and gets better with each project. “Kendrick makes us wait,” the host said. “Kendrick gives us something to look forward to. Kendrick takes his time.”

Although Charlamagne was clearly joking when he said Drake cheated with his latest Billboard achievement, he did give the rapper his props for making history once again.

“I asked a question a few months ago and the question was simply, ‘Are we still in a Drake era?’” he said on Tuesday. “When you’re No. one, two and three on the charts, I think that answers your question. When it comes to streaming, when it comes to radio, he’s still the guy.”

OVO’s Baka tagged Charlamagne in the Instagram post of Drake celebrating his achievement.

Maybe Drake will give Charlamagne another bar in his next song.
