According to Billboard, “Up” drew 22.7 million U.S. streams in the week ending March 18. It also garnered 34.9 million radio airplay audience impressions in the week ending March 21. “Up” marks Cardi’s fifth career No. 1 hit, joining “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” “Girls Like You” and “WAP.”

She now extends her record as the female rapper with the most Hot 100 No. 1s. “Up” also makes Cardi the first female rapper with two Hot 100 No. 1s with no supporting artists.

The single soared to the top of the charts following her controversial Grammys performance with Megan Thee Stallion, which drew several Federal Commission of Communication (FCC) complaints due to their outfits and sexy dance moves.

Earlier this month, REVOLT reported that the Bronx native became the first female rapper to have a diamond song. Her 2017 breakout single “Bodak Yellow” was certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on March 8, meaning the single sold more than 10 million units.

Cardi responded to congratulatory messages from fans on Twitter. “I need a moment guys,” she tweeted. “I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow and I’ll be reposting. I’m too emotional to see all these beautiful tweets.”
