Britney Spears Set To Battle Dad In Court Over $300,000 Spent In Conservatorship

The latest hearing in the Britney Spears conservator case is set to take place today. It is an accounting hearing, per the case calendar, and will see the co-conservators of her estate — that would be her dad, Jamie Spears, and new party Bessemer Trust, working together to report on the superstar’s finances.

Britney Spears is fighting her father Jamie Spears over $300,000 of her money that was spent without her knowledge as part of her conservatorship.

A hearing is scheduled to take place this afternoon regarding Britney’s finances. As The Blast previously reported, Britney is upset over $300,000 her father paid her ex-manager. She believes the money should be returned to her estate. Britney feels the payment was excessive and unnecessary.

In the documents, Britney explained her business manager Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group resigned from their position due to alleged death threats.

The “Toxic” singer has an issue with the amount of money her dad paid to Tri-Star. She claimed the company worked as her management for over 10 years. The firm was paid a 5% commission on Britney’s gross entertainment-related income. Many #FreeBritney fans have blamed the company and its head, Lou Taylor, for Britney’s problems.

Britney had no issues with the commissions being paid until last year. She said she decided to go on a “indefinite work hiatus” in early 2019. The same year Tri-Star reportedly demanded an increase in their pay. They wanted a 5 percent commission with a $500k annual minimum.

Britney says Jamie agreed to the deal without trying to negotiate the deal at all. Britney says Tri Star was paid $308,974.51 for the year. She wants the payment “disallowed” and returned back to her account. She believes the payment was excessive and should not have been made.

Jamie is fighting Britney’s objection and denies ever spending her money improperly. The #FreeBritney supporters have been protesting outside each hearing to show Britney love.

They believe Britney’s team is collecting over a million dollars in fees annually. A judge is set to make a decision on the $300,000 spent during the hearing.

The hearing is scheduled for today at 1:30 p.m. PT — and Britney fans will likely turn up against outside the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, as they consistently have done at all recent hearings. Good luck Brit.
