Britney Spears Opens Up About Social Anxiety: ‘I turn into this different person, seriously, bipolar disorder’

Britney Spears’  I Am Britney Jean documentary aired on E! last night.

The 2-hour documentary focused almost exclusively on preparations for Brit’s upcoming two-year residency in Las Vegas.

Fans got an inside look at what all goes in to Britney’s Piece of Me show — lights, projections, choreography (she dances…a lot!), set lists, and more.

It wasn’t all glitz and glamour, as Britney also gave us a candid look at who she is off the stage and outside of interviews. The quirky, often shy, down-to-earth Louisiana girl is definitely still present and is a stark contrast to the Britney many of us see on stage.

‘I have always been kind of shy, since I was a little girl. It’s who I am to be modest, so I really can’t help it,’ said Britney, while fidgeting with her hands.  ‘I’m not really made for this industry because I am so shy. It’s not something that I deal with so well,’

She continued:

‘I turn into this different person seriously. Bipolar disorder.’

After being rumored to suffer from bipolar disorder since her very public breakdown in 2007, it’s hard to tell whether or not Britney’s finally revealing what many believe or if she’s making a casual joke.
