Zendaya Coleman was criticized by E! News’ Guiliana Rancic for wearing her hair in locs a few months ago at the 2015 Oscars.
Now, Zendaya’s look has been immortalized in the form of a Barbie doll.
Zendaya was presented with her one-of-a-kind doll at the Barbie Rock ‘N Royals Concert Experience in Los Angeles on Saturday.
How awesome is that? Zendaya took to Instagram to share her excitement, writing:
‘When I was little I couldn’t find a Barbie that looked like me, my…how times have changed. Thank you @barbie for this honor and for allowing me to be apart of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty. Can’t wait to keep doing amazing things with you #besuper @luxurylaw @theshelbyswain.’
The Barbie team also wrote an encouraging note to the young star that accompanied her doll.
We couldn’t be more thrilled for Zendaya. Black Girls Rock!
