Beyoncé announced last week that she’s donating donate $25,000 grants to four HBCUs through her BeyGOOD charity — and now thanks to Google she’s giving four more students a chance to earn a grant.

Google.org, the charitable arm of the tech behemoth, has announced it will match the superstar philanthropist’s donation and will add four of its own $25,000 grants. Students at Texas Southern University, Fisk University, Grambling State University, and Morehouse College will now be able to apply for the Homecoming Scholars grant. Students studying literature, creative arts, African-American studies, science, education, business, communications, social sciences, computer science and engineering will be eligible to apply, and must have at least a 3.5 GPA.
“Google understands the vital role historically black colleges and universities play in delivering a high quality and culturally responsive education,” said Maab Ibrahim, a program manager at Google.org, in a statement.
It would be great if several other businesses came forward to match Beyoncé’s contribution — especially Starbucks.
