Watch: Andrew Gillum and Wife Open Up About Hotel Room Incident, His Trip to Rehab, and How It Affected Their Marriage on ‘The Tamron Hall Show’ [Video]

In an exclusive interview with Tamron Hall, former Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum and his wife are opening up about the hotel incident from earlier this year that shocked the nation and prompted him to enter rehab for alcohol addiction.

In March 2020, Andrew was found under the influence and unresponsive along with two other men in a Miami Beach hotel room where a police report indicated there was suspected drug use.

One of the men was later identified as a well-known escort.

Not long after, a series of photos surfaced from inside the hotel room showing drugs, soiled sheets, and a man who appeared to be Andrew passed out in a pile of vomit.

Andrew addressed the incident in a public statement announcing his decision to enter rehab.

According to a press release from “The Tamron Hall Show,” Andrew will discuss his swift fall from grace, his rehabilitation experience in the face of adversity, and share what life looks like now.”

His wife, R. Jai Gillum, is by his side “to discuss the impact this has had on their marriage and their family and what the future holds.”

A brief snippet of the interview was featured in a promo teasing the season premiere episode and shows an emotional Andrew revealing, “I cried every day.”

Previously, it was rumored that Andrew and his wife had separated following the embarrassing ordeal — but it appears as though they’ve decided to stay together.

The interview is set to air on ‘The Tamron Hall Show’ Monday, September 14 on ABC. Check out the trailer below.
