André Leon Talley Plays Coy on Instagram after Anna Wintour Diss

André Leon Talley gave a typically arch response to the explosion of headlines about his memoir — in which he blasts Anna Wintour as “not capable of human kindness” — after passages were leaked late last week.

His shocking jabs sent shockwaves through the fashion industry, but the veteran editor coyly teased on Instagram Monday, “Did I miss anything this weekend?”

Last week, Page Six reported that Talley slammed Wintour as “ruthless” in his new memoir, “The Chiffon Trenches,” in which he reveals that she has stopped talking to him after decades of working together.

He sniffed that she is “not capable” of “human kindness” and claimed that she dumped him for being “too old, too overweight, too uncool.”

Talley’s followers replied to his question by telling him that Wendy Williams had responded to his criticism by aiming her own barbs at Wintour.

Williams raged on her show Monday, “No one is of value to Anna Wintour. Anna Wintour doesn’t care about people. Anna Wintour cares about her wig.” She added, “Anna Wintour cares about her reputation. And Anna Wintour cares about who pays attention to her in fashion.”

The chat show queen also saved some fighting words for Talley, saying he should “move on” and that he would run back to Wintour if she called. Williams said he has no “backbone.”

Talley worked for Vogue on and off from the 1980s until 2018, when he was replaced as the magazine’s red carpet reporter for the Met Gala.

Meanwhile, Talley claimed that he’d spent the weekend reading a photo memoir of his “dear friend” Lee Bouvier Radziwell, who died last year.

“I dedicated my upcoming memoir, ‘The Chiffon Trenches,’ in loving memory to Lee. For 3 decades she offered me unconditional love, joy, trust and laughter. Lee was the best friend anyone could have,” he added.
