We admit, like a lot of the Internet we were a bit slow in realizing that the actor who plays Ricky Jerret on The Rock‘s HBO show ‘Ballers,’ John David Washington, is actually Denzel Washington’s son.
Yep — we totally see it now.
John David is also a Morehouse College graduate who played briefly in the NFL, for the St. Louis Rams in the 2006-07 season. His past credits include appearing in Malcolm X, as well as co-producing his dad’s 2010 film “The Book of Eli.
We’re just glad we’re not the only ones who didn’t make the connection at first.
