Fans will no doubt recognize Wendell Pierce from underrated HBO drama series The Wire and Treme, and now he’s set to return to the premium cable network.
The actor has signed on to portray Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in HBO’s upcoming biopic Confirmation. He will star opposite Scandal actress Kerry Washington, who is set to play Anita Hill.
Anita Hill famously accused Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment and testified at his 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearings.
Dope‘s (you can view that trailer here) Rick Famuyiwa will direct the biopic, which begins production this summer.
