Aretha Franklin debuted her new single, a cover of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” last night on Late Show with David Letterman.

Her good friend Cissy Houston helped out with background vocals, but it looks like homegirl missed a rehearsal or two.

She simply did not know the words. At least she tried though!
