Trey Songz Claims Self-Defense Over Alleged Assault on Woman at NBA All-Star Party

Trey Songz says the only reason he would’ve put his hands on a woman would be to defend himself, so he’s asking the court to dismiss an assault lawsuit against him.

via The Blast:

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Songz (real name: Tremaine Neverson) is arguing self-defense as the reason to throw out the case.

The singer says that he is not responsible for any harm suffered by Andrea Buera, the woman suing him. He says during the alleged incident he “reasonably believed Plaintiff was going to harm him and any force he used was only the amount reasonable necessary to protect himself.”

Songz has been battling Andrea, a woman who accused the “Bottoms Up” singer of assaulting her at a party in the Hollywood Hills during this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend. She claimed he became enraged after she talked to one of his friends.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all shakes out.
