Lifetime’s highly anticipated Aaliyah: Princess of R&B premiered last night, and according to our entire social media feed the movie was NOT what it should have been.

From the story to the casting, Twitter & Facebook lit up with negative reactions from casual fans, celebrities, and even other television networks!

Because of the questionable casting decisions, viewers started making memes blasting Lifetime and Wendy Williams for their poor choices.

Timbaland rounded up several and has been posting them to his Instagram account. Take a look:

If that wasn’t subtle enough, Timbaland also posted a few videos sharing his thoughts:

When Timbaland asked Missy Elliott if she was watching the movie, Missy kept her reaction a little more positive.

Zendaya, who was originally supposed to play Aaliyah in the film before backing out, threw a little shade during the broadcast.

Even rival network VH1 got in on the slander.

As you may know, Wendy Williams is co-executive producer on the film and her mentions have been in complete shambles for the last 18 hours. She’ll definitely have to address this during her ‘Hot Topics’ segment on Monday.
