Taraji P. Henson has come under fire for questioning why it seems R. Kelly is being held more accountable than Harvey Weinstein.
She took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday and shared a a series of videos, first of her looking up the hashtag and fan pages under “Mute R. Kelly.”
Of course, she found a few.
She then repeated her search — only this time she looked for similar pages and hashtags about Harvey Weinstein. She didn’t find many.
Taraji then shared an emoji and “hmm,” suggesting she was confused as to why there was backlash for one and seemingly not the other.
Needless to say, people aren’t having it.

Walp
I guess Taraji listened to men’s thoughts for too long in that last movie & started actin up on IG pic.twitter.com/1WpqJeIN4s— Tora Shae (@BlackMajiik) January 22, 2019
Wild how intellectually dishonest Taraji characterizes this. You don't *mute* a movie producer. We already know he was a catalyst for #/MeToo. And check his full name WITHOUT the "mute" prefix. His name is popular due doing being a decades-long sexual assaultor AND HE'S ON TRIAL. pic.twitter.com/RSRniTHidb

I see why Taraji is trending and I’m extremely disappointed. And her new movie coming out that I wanted to see…guess I’ll just keep my lil coins ?????

Taraji could literally ask Rose McGowan about her efforts to stop Weinsten and speaking out. Instead she wanted to be loud and wrong

‘Surviving R. Kelly’ producer Dream Hampton offered her thoughts on Taraji’s questioning.
No idea why Taraji Henson wouldn't know that there are not one, but two projects abt Harvey Weinstein. But this is an oft-invoked deflection. While I care abt the Hollywood stars Weinstein abused, I care more abt Asante, Kitty, Jerhona, Lisette, Azriel & Joy & others, even more.

Plus Weinstein is on trial. For rape.

Plus, you don't really care about Weinstein, you just want silence around R. Kelly. Taraji, like me, is from the generation whose job it was to deal with R. Kelly 20 years ago. We didn't and countless girls were harmed because of our inaction. So I made #SurvivingRKellly

Finally, Taraji will be glad to know that while people are using a hashtag begun by Black women– @SuiteLadyOro & @LegisEmpress–who've been strategic & clear with their demands, enough ppl support R Kelly to make him chart. Which I found heartbreaking https://t.co/vo6T07aH8K

Furthermore, Taraji’s former manager faced some sexual harassment allegations of his own and Taraji was quick to issue a statement about how she was ‘saddened’ and how ‘this has to stop’ — where’s that compassion now?
Update: Taraji has responded to the backlash.
LET ME BE CLEAR R. KELLY IS GUILTY AND WRONG AND SHOULD BE MUTED PERIOD!!!!! ???
