Professional golfer Tadd Fujikawa revealed in a lengthy Instagram post on Monday — the same day as World Suicide Prevention Day — that he is gay.
In his message, he encouraged fans to practice empathy towards one another and promised to keep fighting for LGBTQ equality.

“Coincidentally, today is world suicide prevention day,” the 27-year-old golfer began the post. “However, I was going to share this regardless. So…I’m gay. Many of you may have already known that.?”
He continued.
“I don’t expect everyone to understand or accept me. But please be gracious enough to not push your beliefs on me or anyone in the LGBTQ community. My hope is this post will inspire each and every one of you to be more empathetic and loving towards one another.”
In a time where equality and general human decency seems to be under attack, we applaud Tadd for contributing to LGBTQ visibility.
