A Spike Lee Joint: Michael B. Jordan Stars In ‘Words Matter’ Short Directed by Spike Lee for Coach

Oscar-winning director Spike Lee, collaborated with Black Panther star and newly appointed Coach menswear ambassador Michael B. Jordan, in an inspiring short film for the Coach “Words Matter” Campaign. The film is set in the desert, with a beautiful vintage look, it shows Jordan finding rocks with the negative words, “Hatred,” “Evil,” “Bigotry,” “Lies,” – written on them, and throwing them away. He then discovers rocks with the uplifting words, “Courage,” “Truth,” “Dream,” and “Love” showcasing the power of words.

“They can lift you up or they can put you down. In other words, words really do matter. We choose Optimism, Courage and above all Love,” says Coach about the campaign.

“Spike’s art has moved the cultural dial for decades. I’m proud of the powerful messaging of this film and to be working alongside a brand that cares about putting that narrative into the world as much as I do, ” Jordan said in a statement.

Spike Lee just won his first Oscar at the 91st Academy Awards after more than 35 years of filmmaking, for Best Adapted Screenplay for BlacKkKlansman. Michael B. Jordan recently starred in Creed II, he’ll be starring in Just Mercy in 2020.
