“Unforgettable” singer Natalie Cole has passed away from congestive heart failure. She was 65-years-old.
“It is with heavy hearts that we bring to you all the news of our Mother and sister’s passing,” her rep said in a statement. “Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived…with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever.”
Prior to her passing, Natalie struggled with substance abuse and was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 2008. She later developed kidney issues and eventually underwent a kidney transplant.
Just recently her health took a turn for the worse and she canceled several shows in December as well as an upcoming show in February 2016.
RIP Natalie.
