We told you a few days ago about USC athlete Josh Shaw and how he sprained two ankles after jumping from a second story balcony to save his 7-year-old nephew from drowning.
As it turns out, he lied.
He admitted to school officials that it never happened and has retracted the entire story. He’s since been suspended indefinitely from all of the Trojans’ team activities.
The school didn’t explain how Shaw actually was injured in its statement, but USC officials say they regret posting a story lauding Shaw’s tale on their website Monday.
USC coach Steve Sarkisian says the Trojans are “extremely disappointed in Josh.” Shaw is a fifth-year senior, a team captain and a key starter in USC’s defensive secondary.
The school also notes Shaw has retained legal counsel.
SMH. We don’t even know what to say.
