The Baton Rouge Police Department said Wilkerson met the man, who was posing as a woman, on dating app Tagged.

Wilkerson told cops he asked the man several times not to come to his home after discovering his potential love interest’s true identity.

On Monday, Wilkerson saw the man pull into his driveway and went with his mom to confront him. Wilkerson told police that he brought his mom’s handgun with him for protection.

Police said the man drove at Wilkerson and his mom, striking them with his car.

Wilkerson reportedly fired four shots at the car as the man fled from the scene.

Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run and arrested Wilkerson.

It is unclear if the other man was taken into custody or faces any charges.
