Church is the last place we’d expect to hear a reference to a Chris Brown song, but alas it has happened.
Pastor Jamal Bryant was delivering a sermon at the Empowerment Temple in Baltimore, MD, on Sunday and tried to relate to his congregation by throwing in a lyric from Chris Brown’s “Loyal.”
He literally told churchgoers, “I gotta tell ya, these hoes ain’t loyal!” in the middle of his sermon. Surprisingly, the church reacted with cheers and applause.
There’s nothing wrong with being in touch with popular culture….but talking about hoes in the house of the Lord? That might be too much.
