It’s one thing to go to prison for murder, it’s another thing to murder someone while you’re in prison for murder.

31-year-old Jaime Osuna was already serving time for killing someone when he allegedly decapitated his 44-year-old cellmate, Luis Romero.

According to Kings County Assistant District Attorney Phil Esbenshade, Jaime severing several of Luis’ body parts including an eye and finger and cut out part of a lung. He bled to death and was discovered by prison security during a morning check, local ABC affiliate KFSN reported.

“This is probably the most unusual and gruesome case that I’ve had in my career,” Esbenshade said.

A weapon was located inside the cell and appeared to have been made from some type of razor that had been issued to Osuna.

Four felony charges were filed against Osuna, including torture, mayhem, and murder with four special allegations — one of them being a prior murder conviction, which makes him eligible for the death penalty.

“At this point, we intend to prosecute him pursuant to the complaint, put it in front of a jury,” Esbenshade said. “At this point we don’t intend to make any offers or deals.”

Osuna began serving a life sentence without parole in May 2017 for torturing and killing a woman in 2011.

Romero had been serving a sentence for second degree murder since 1992.

This man is a very specific brand of crazy.
