So Sad: 28-Year-Old Identified After Being Found Dead in Car Trunk Following Police Chase

Texas police have identified the body of a woman found in the trunk of a car following a police pursuit as 28-year-old Briana Teirra Johnson.

via NYDN:

ABC News reports that police gave chase when they spotted a white Honda speeding around 7:45 a.m. and pulled it over in Beaumont, which is roughly 85 miles east of Houston.

The car’s driver, identified as Victor Campbell Jr., allegedly led cops on a pursuit that ended when he crashed in a church-run resale shop parking lot. Campbell was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, then jailed.

In the trunk was Johnson, whose cause of death has not been reported. She resides in the Sunnyside area of Houston, where Campbell, according to ABC sources, sometimes stayed. He’s from the suburb of Fresno.

Surveillance video from Johnson’s house reportedly shows Campbell dragging the victim out of her home just before 5 a.m. and loading her body into the car. Investigators were searching a home in Houston believed to be Campbell’s.

Campbell — who’s previously been charged for family violence — now faces charges of driving while intoxicated, tampering with evidence and abusing a corpse, ABC reported.

Prayers go out to Briana’s family.
