Rihanna is set to receive this year’s top honor at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.
The singer will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at the ceremony, set to air life on Sunday, Aug 28 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The Video Vanguard award his an honor that recognizes accomplishments in music, fashion, film and philanthropy. It was created in 1984 then it was renamed in 1991 in honor of Michael Jackson.
