‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Dorit Kemsley is speaking out in defense of Hilaria Baldwin amid the controversy over her accent — which is fitting, because Dorit’s had an accent controversy of her own.

Over the weekend, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 44, weighed in on recent controversy involving 36-year-old Baldwin, who is currently embroiled in a Spanish heritage scandal.
“I feel bad for what she’s going through in the press at the moment. I don’t think she deserves it,” Kemsley said Saturday on her Instagram story.
“I’ve had so much scrutiny over the way I speak, I’ve learned to ignore all the noise but at first it was really hurtful. I’m sure all of this backlash has been hard on her,” she continued.
Kemsley added while she doesn’t know Alec Baldwin’s wife personally, she’s looking forward to her social media return.
“I don’t know her but I’ve followed her for years and I hope she’s back on social media soon,” Kemsley wrote.
The Bravo star added she’s hopeful online trolls back off in the new year.
“I would love to see less trolling and bullying on social media in 2021. If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all,” Kemsley concluded.
Recently, Baldwin has defended her fluctuating Spanish accent, and also admitted to being born in Boston as Hillary, and not Mallorca, Spain, as Hilaria.
“There’s been some questions about where I’m born, I’m born in Boston … I spent some of my childhood in Boston, some of my childhood in Spain, my family, my brother, my parents, my nephew, everybody is over there in Spain now, I’m here,” Baldwin said in an Instagram video last week.
Kemsley, who joined the cast of the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in Season 7, addressed questions about her own accent in a 2017 interview with Bravo’s Daily Dish.
“I think the way I speak is probably a combination of many things. First and foremost, I am married to a Brit who’s got a very, very strong London accent, and I’m sure some of his inflections have sort of rolled over on me,” Kemsley said of her husband Paul Kemsley, also known as PK.
“My parents are not American. I was born and raised in America. I did spend a significant amount of time, nearly 10 years, back and forth going to Europe,” she added at the time.
We love Dorit, but she probably should’ve sat this one out.
