People magazine might want to hire someone else to live-tweet television shows from now on.

Last night, the magazine was blasted by fans after posting what some consider to be a racist and offensive tweet in response to Viola Davis’ starring role in ABC’s How to Get Away With Murder.

For whatever reason, People mag couldn’t separate Viola Davis from her role as the maid, Aibileen Clark, in The Help.

The criticism came swiftly.

The magazine also made an offensive tweet in regards to Olivia Pope while live-tweeting Scandal.
