Nick Gordon’s sit down with Dr. Phil took place earlier this week and for the first time Nick opened up about what life has been like for him in the wake of Bobbi Kristina’s tragedy.
The interview is being billed as an “emotionally-charged intervention,” and was all his mother’s idea. After Nick tweeted a suicidal message on the eve of Bobbi Kristinas’ 22nd birthday, Nick’s mother Michelle reached out to Dr. Phil for help.
We’re not sure why out of all of the licensed psychologists Michelle would run to a TV doc, but we’ll go with it…
I’m so hurt I wanna do myself in, I know I have to [be] strong
Nick revealed to Dr. Phil that he’s been battling with “severe pain, mental anguish and panic attacks” since finding Bobbi Kristina face-down in the bathtub. Nick’s mother says her son has been feeling guilty over the loss of Whitney Houston because he tried giving her CPR at the time she was found dead.
As we sit here right now, my son’s life hangs in the balance. When Whitney was found, he administered CPR to her and called me as he was standing in front of her saying, ‘Mom, why couldn’t I do it? I couldn’t get air into her lungs.’ He won’t let go of the guilt.
According to the New York Daily News, right after Dr. Phil’s ‘intervention’ Nick checked himself into rehab.
“Hopefully he’s in rehab right now. He got in car from the hotel with his mom,” a well-placed source told The News.
“Things got really bad with him,” the source said, referring to boyfriend Nick Gordon. “This was about saving his life.”
Gordon had been drowning his sorrow in dangerous amounts of Jack Daniel’s, and was confronted in his Georgia hotel Thursday morning, sources told The News.
The treatment he’s due to receive would be for suicidal thoughts, alcohol and Xanax, sources said.
The interview is scheduled to air March 11th.
