Jemele Hill Appropriately Calls Donald Trump a White Supremacist, ESPN Releases a Statement on Her ‘Inappropriate’ Actions

ESPN is distancing themselves from Jemele Hill after the ‘Sportscenter’ host referred to Donald Trump as a white supremacist on Twitter.

She wrote that Trump is a “white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself” with “other white supremacists.”

The network has released a statement, calling Jemele’s actions ‘inappropriate.’

“The comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the President do not represent the position of ESPN. We have addressed this with Jemele and she recognizes her actions were inappropriate,” said spokesman Josh Krulewitz in a statement.

ESPN has a history of suspending or firing people who the feel crossed the line with political comments, but it’s unclear what’s going to happen with Jemele.

The network  did issue new guidelines in April 2017 that allow for ‘political discussion on the network’s platforms’ — but we’ll see.

We stand with Jemele.
