Meek Mill Angers Fans by Mentioning Kobe Bryant and a Helicopter in His New Song

Meek Mill has fans super upset after the rapper referenced the late Kobe Bryant and a helicopter in a new song.

On Wednesday, a clip from Meek’s new track with Lil Baby leaked online, which reportedly includes the lyrics: “If I ever lack I’m goin’ out with my choppa, it be another Kobe.”

Fans blasted Meek on Twitter, calling the verse “disrespectful.” The Lakers legend tragically died in a helicopter crash one year ago, alongside his teenage daughter and several others.

“In my opinion it was disrespectful and distasteful. A lot of people died in that accident and a lot of people are still torn up. Some people just don’t understand that it’s inappropriate,” one Twitter user responded to a tweet Thursday from Meek that read: “Somebody promo a narrative and y’all follow it…. y’all internet antics cannot stop me …. s–t like zombie land or something! Lol.”

“Children died in that helicopter meek, u bring this on yourself,” another responded.

“Meek said what?” replied another.

In a separate tweet on Thursday, Meek — who nearly came to blows with rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine over the weekend — wrote, “They paying to influence y’all now… its almost like mind control ‘wake up.”

In January 2020, Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, were among the nine people who died in a helicopter crash in California. The NBA superstar was 41 years old.

Meek isn’t really known for making good decisions — so this line being in such poor taste doesn’t shock us one bit.
