The world let out a collective *gasp* when it was revealed that Lance Armstrong was stripped of his 7 Tour De France titles after testing positive for performance enhancing drugs.
Armstrong’s been pretty quite on the incident until now. He’s ready to come clean in an interview with Oprah that’s scheduled to air via OWN on Thursday.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A person familiar with the situation says Lance Armstrong confessed to Oprah Winfrey during an interview Monday that he used performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the interview is to be broadcast Thursday on Winfrey’s network.
It was reported last night that Armstrong broke down in front of his Livestrong staff while apologizing for his lies.
The apology was described as emotional for him and the staff. A full house of around 100 staffers heard it at the foundation’s headquarters in Austin, Texas.
Livestrong spokesman Katherine McLane said it was a “very sincere and heartfelt apology to the staff.”
