Lana Del Rey put her white womanhood on full display in her latest Instagram post.
The singer took to the social media network to rant about the backlash she’s received for glorifying abuse — which, by itself, is a semi-valid complaint.
However, she started her rant by calling out other celebrities — mostly Black women — and that’s where she got everyone f*cked up.
“Now that Doja Cat, Ariana, Camila, Cardi B, Kehlani and Nicki Minaj and Beyonce have had number ones with songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, f—ing, cheating, etc – can I please go back to singing about being embodied, feeling beautiful by being in love even if the relationship is not perfect, or dancing for money – or whatever I want – without being crucified or saying that I’m glamorizing abuse?”
Are we to pretend like Black women haven’t been the target of backlash for their music?
In short Lana Del Rey been in the house too long talking to other white women about white women shit…
No one is criticized, objectified and told how to express sexuality more than Black women.
Chill ma…

Black women: *make history*; *finally receive the accolades they deserve for their talent*
white women like Lana Del Rey: but what about ME!??????
It’s like clockwork; imagine how exhausted we are

Lana del Rey’s essay or whatever the fuck she posted was absolutely pathetic. You are a white woman in the industry speaking about ‘place for women like me’, and immediately opens up about being salty about black women artists who have reached the top. Grow the fuck up

Lana Del Rey really threw a bunch of black women under the bus before saying that feminism needs to accommodate women like her. It's art.
