'Empire's' Jussie Smollett & Lee Daniels Support NOH8 Campaign [Photos]

Jussie Smollett and Lee Daniels have joined their Empire sister Taraji P. Henson in taking a stand to end discrimination against the LGBT community by supporting the NOH8 campaign.

Jussie and Lee’s support is no surprise.

The talented Jussie portrays gay son Jamal on Empire, and Lee serves as the show’s openly gay executive producer.

In fact, scenes addressing homophobia during the pilot episode were taken directly from Lee’s childhood (for those of you who watch, the infamous trashcan scene actually occurred to Lee when he was a child).

Jussie and Lee are hoping that Empire‘s take on Jamal’s sexuality will encourage healthy discourse about homophobia in our communities.
