‘DTLA’ to Premiere On Logo October 24: Trailer

Logo announced today that the independently financed, scripted ensemble drama seriesDTLA will make its U.S. television premiere on Logo. From the executive producer of theThe L Word and the star of Noah’s Arc, DTLA depicts the relationships and sex lives of eight friends with varied ethnic, cultural, and sexual orientations that work and live in the vibrant community of Downtown Los Angeles. Starring Darryl Stephens (Noah’s Arc) and a cavalcade of notable supporting cast including Golden Globe winning, and Academy Award nominated Melanie Griffith, Sandra Bernhard and Leslie Jordan, it’s a story of love, friendship, loyalty, and being true to oneself – no matter what the cost. DTLA kicks off with an hour-long U.S. television premiere on Wednesday, October 24th at 11 PM ET/PT on Logo, followed by seven, 30-minute weekly episodes.

DTLA tells the story of a diverse group of friends, all at crossroads in their lives. Stephens stars as Lenny, a civil litigation attorney who reunites with his college friend SJ (Marshelle Fair) during the breaking point in her marriage and while his own long-term relationship with Bryan (Matthew Stephen Herrick) starts to crumble. Also in the mix are Kai (Hiro Tanaka), a young teacher obsessed with hooking up with his celeb crush, Marky (Scott Pretty), a young Marine cadet, and his boyfriend Matthew (Patrick McDonald), a newcomer to LA who will stop at nothing to make it as an actor, and Stefan (Ernest Pierce), an outspoken lawyer struggling to make his relationship work with his much younger boyfriend Trey (JC Jones). An all-star supporting cast includes Griffith, Bernhard, Erin Daniels (The L Word), Jeremy Jackson, Paul Mooney, Tiffany Pollard (I Love New York), William McNamara, Julie Goldman, B. Scott and Danny Roberts (The Real World – New Orleans).

DTLA represents the first instance that a Kickstarter assisted crowd funded television series will receive domestic and international distribution.
