CNN’s Don Lemon has issued an apology for his awful and absurd response to Joan Tarshis, one of several women brave enough to come forward and speak of her alleged sexual abuse at the hands of Bill Cosby.

In case you missed it, Don Lemon suggested that despite being drugged and forced upon — Joan could have prevented being raped if she had just used her teeth.

After Don’s comments enraged pretty much everyone, he got back on air and apologized

“As I am a victim myself I would never want to suggest that any victim could have prevented a rape,” he said. “If my question to her struck anyone as insensitive, I am sorry as that is certainly and was not my intention.”

Don Lemon was sexually abused by a friend of his mother’s as a child, as revealed in his 2011 memoir Transparent.

We’re glad he apologized, but ‘I’m sorry if you found my remarks insensitive.’ is NOT the same as ‘I’m sorry for offending anyone with my insensitive remarks.’
