Officer Darren Wilson is giving his first interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that will be aired in full later this evening.

In a preview of their sit-down, Wilson says that he never shot towards Mike Brown’s back and that he feared for his life after Mike Brown reached in his car and went for his gun.

Wilson said that he was sorry that Brown had died, but “he would not do anything differently that day,” according to Stephanopoulos. “He did what he was trained to do. He was simply doing his job.”

The ABC News host asked Wilson if things “would have gone down any differently if Michael Brown were white.”

“Absolutely not,” Wilson reportedly replied, adding that he had a “clean conscience.”

Let’s run this back — Darren Wilson just said that if he had the opportunity to do anything differently, he wouldn’t. He’d still fire 10 shots and ultimately kill Mike Brown. Shameful.

ABC is expected to air more of the interview during Tuesday’s World News Tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET.
