Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have announced a new joint project called Silk Sonic. The pair has made a whole album together, featuring Parliament Funkadelic bassist and funk star Bootsy Collins as a “special guest host.” The first single arrives on March 5, with the rest of the record arriving on an as yet unannounced date.
Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak toured together in 2017, and the same year, they reportedly worked on material at Abbey Road with Disclosure and Nile Rodgers. Collins issued his most recent solo record, The Power of the One, last year. Anderson .Paak’s Ventura came out in 2019. Bruno Mars’ last album was 2016’s 24K Magic.
We are excited to hear what the duo came up with.
