Grand jurors in the Breonna Taylor are calling for the impeachment of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron in a new petition.

Three grand jurors in the Breonna Taylor case filed a petition with the Kentucky state government calling for the impeachment of Attorney General Daniel Cameron for mischaracterizing their findings, it was revealed said Friday.
The petition, which was filed Friday, alleges Cameron failed in his duties and breached public trust for his handling of the case, the Louisville Courier Journal reported.
Cameron was the special prosecutor in the case and presented evidence against the police offices accused of killing Taylor, who was in her boyfriend’s Louisville apartment when cops opened fire in a botched drug raid.
The grand jury indicted one of the cops, Brett Hankison, after Cameron’s presentation to the panel, but only for bullets that ripped through a neighbor’s wall.
In the petition, the jurors note Cameron claimed he walked the panel through potential homicide charges they could return when he announced the indictment of Hankison, the Journal reported.
That never actually happened, the petition states.
“Neither Cameron nor anyone from his office mentioned any homicide offense to the grand jury. Not only were no homicide offenses presented as alleged, no charges of any kind were presented to the Grand Jury other than the three wanton endangerment charges against Detective Hankinson,” the petition states, according to the Journal.
They allege Cameron used the panel as “a shield to deflect accountability and responsibility,” according to the report.
The officers, who had a no-knock warrant, killed Taylor on March 13 after entering her Louisville apartment and exchanging gunfire with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, has said he believed he was firing at intruders breaking into the apartment — not police officers.
Police were looking for drugs in the apartment during the raid, but none were recovered.
