Beyoncé didn’t boycott the state of North Carolina in the wake of newly-passed anti-LGBT legislation like some artists have done, but that doesn’t mean she agrees with it.
In a note posted to her website, Beyoncé applauded “the many organizations doing the good work to get this bill overturned” and encouraged fans to get involved with those organizations.
“As the Formation World Tour makes its stop in the Tar Heel state in the midst of such a controversial time,” the note reads, “we think it is important for us to bring attention to those who are committed to being good and carrying on the message of equality in this corse of controversy.”
She goes on to highlight the work of Equality NC, a North Carolina organization that focuses on securing equal rights for LGBTQ North Carolina residents.
“Learn more about how you can support Equality NC by donating, volunteering, becoming an ambassador, attending an event, or simply spreading the word!,” the note ends
