Smith was arrested last year in New York and charged with one count of sending and receiving hundreds of videos of child pornography and possession of hundreds of additional videos containing child pornography, reported the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York. According to court documents, prosecutors state that Smith used electronic communications to lure a minor to New York City for sexual activity.

Smith entered a guilty plea in front of the judge.

“In late 2023 or early 2024, I induced a 15-year-old to engage in a sex act. I don’t remember through text or [social media], but phones were definitely used. I know what I was doing was wrong,” Smith said in court last week, according to the New York Post. “I apologize. I knew it was wrong when I did it. [….] I take full 100% responsibility for my actions, and I am prepared for the consequences,” he added.

He continued: “I apologize. I knew it was wrong when I did it. I don’t blame anyone else for my conduct. [although] It was another person engaging in the conduct. I take full 100 percent responsibility for my actions, and I am prepared for the consequences.”

As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors will drop the child sexual abuse material charges, focusing instead on the enticement charge, which carries a significantly higher sentencing range. However, enticing a minor for sexual activity is a serious federal crime that carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life.

Smith’s sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 9. He has been held without bail since his arrest.

Smith, once a recognizable face in gay adult entertainment, now stands convicted of a crime that has shattered his public persona and exposed the disturbing truth behind his private actions. His guilty plea confirms what many feared: behind the stage name and curated image was a man who exploited his access to technology and influence to prey on a minor.

Smith’s acknowledgment of guilt and expression of remorse will not erase the harm he caused. However, it does signal the legal consequences now closing in. For his victim, their family, and the countless people who once supported him unknowingly, this case serves as a sobering reminder: fame does not excuse criminal behavior, and predators can exist in any space, even ones built on sexuality and trust.

The full extent of Smith’s punishment remains to be seen. But his conviction has already delivered a powerful message that neither his notoriety nor his past career can overshadow.
